You can give your bathroom a quick and effective face-lift with a few changes. Bathrooms and kitchens are the most important rooms when selling a home. Therefore, it is important to keep them looking modern and fresh. Follow these tips to make your bathroom look great for a small investment.
Vanity and sink updates
If the vanity looks worn with chips in the top and the doors or drawers, replace it. They are relatively inexpensive and make a bathroom look new. While youre at it, how does the sink look? Does it have stains that wont come out? Maybe it has some chips in the color or around the edges. Is it avocado green? Its time to replace it as well. You might as well match the sink and vanity while youre shopping. Try to get neutral colors for the vanity top and sink. These stay in fashion forever and stop the bathroom from looking dated with colors and styles that come and go.
Consider faucet options
The faucet options available today are nearly unlimited. There is a faucet out there with your name on it. It doesnt matter what your style or dcor. There are faucets that look like the ones from a classic Victorian mansion to the ultra-modern sleek brushed nickel. There are high-rise faucets, extra long, one or two handle. Faucet sets with soap dispensers built-in. There literally is something for everybody.
The prices range from a low of $25.00 to several hundred dollars. The faucets at low end of the price range are made from plastic and I cant recommend them. You should expect to pay at least $85.00 to $100.00 for a decent faucet set.
Towel racks and accessories
Dont forget to update the towel racks, toilet paper holder, and other accessories. You will want to match them to your new faucet. If you always thought there were to few towel racks or hooks in your bathroom now is the time to add more. If limited wall space is a problem you can get towel rings instead of a towel bar or rack. Towel rings fit in as small a space as 3 inches wide.
Add a towel rack or bar to the back of the door or inside the vanity cabinet door. A simple robe hook can double as a towel holder.
For those that want to add some flair, upgrade to a towel warmer. These mount on the wall and need electricity. You turn the warmer on before you get in the shower or tub. When youre finished bathing/showering you have a nice warm towel to dry off. Talk about being pampered.
